To me, any meal with black-eyed peas and greens is a good meal. (Ditto on the vinegar for the greens.) And add some fried okra and catfish, with maybe peach cobbler for dessert. Perfect meal.Greta Koehlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05429623811794360612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-889959884897163049.post-9824514329198067202010-01-02T06:05:45.921-05:002010-01-02T06:05:45.921-05:00Sandra,

In fact I don't remember anyone on mom's side of the family ever making them. I know with mom the dislike hails back to having to clean one too many sets as a girl after a pig(s) were slaugthered. Don't know the rest of the family's reasoning. Dad's side of the family used to love them and would cook up a batch whenever they came to visit during the summer months. Your meal sounds delish. I know mine was. In case I missed saying it Happy New Year to you, too!Mavishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10241988882011440597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-889959884897163049.post-88133199989221088652010-01-01T23:31:02.314-05:002010-01-01T23:31:02.314-05:00Mavis,

(This year, my brother had the "honor" of cleaning the chitterlings. LOL) Add some tomatoes, vinegar on the greens, and...pass the hot sauce please!! It was a delicious meal! HAPPY NEW YEAR!<br />Sandrasjtaliaferrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04485340969813958339noreply@blogger.com
